Fishing at Three Lochs
Coarse Fishing
Loch Heron and Loch Ronald are best known for their population of pike,
bream, rudd, roach, carp and perch.
Pike specimens as large as 30lb with 10lb-15lb as its main stock.
Facilities include Loch side track and picnic areas.
Tackle outlet stocked with everything for the keen angler.
Permits are required for both Lochs (available from Three Lochs reception).
Day £5 and week £25 permits available. Night fishing shelters are
permitted.
Please note: no boating or canoeing allowed on Loch Heron. No live bait.
All coarse fish have to be returned. Boat fishing is permitted with own boats
to a max of 5hp outboard motor on Loch Ronald only.

Trout Fishing
Black Loch is a quality rainbow and blue trout fishery stocked with mainly
2lb - 8lb specimens. Fly-fishing only with four boats (2 persons per boat)
available. Please Note: all hooks must be barbless. Pre-booking is
recommended. All prices include hire of boat and life jacket:

Season: Lochs Heron, Black and Ronald open all year round.
River Fishing
The river Tarf (Airyligg Beat) fly fishing only. A spate river, best fished
after heavy rain, comprising three miles of salmon and brown trout. The boundary
at the top of the beat is the stone wall that crosses the river approx 200 yards
below the Tarf bridge. Both banks can be fished from this point down until you
reach the foot bridge at Airyligg Farm. From this point only the east bank (road
side) can be fished until the conifer plantation (approx 1 mile downstream) is
reached. £12 per day.
Please note: The Water Bailiff to be notified of any
salmon caught.
