New for 2012 – Pony Trekking

We are delighted to be able to offer to our many visitors pony trekking in the beautiful surroundings of our park.

Hazel Lucks

This new venture will be run by Hazel Lucks who has a vast experience in running trekking centres in her native Leeds.

Hazel began offering trekking at the tender age of 16 and has developed her expertise and love of horses and ponies over the years. She started her venture from her parents small market garden farm with 16 ponies and horses, then went on to running a livery yard together with competing at local show jumping events.

Hazel is pleased to leave behind the busy city life – and traffic – to come to this beautiful part of the world to enjoy her passion of horses and the great outdoors!

For our park trekking venture Hazel will be able to offer initially 6 ponies ranging up to 14.2hh. These will carry anyone up to 11 stone – so she will be able to cater for children, teens and adults – from complete beginners to the more experienced.

Riders can start with a gentle half hour hack – with leads – or hacks taking in more of the countryside with a duration of an hour and half.  Here’s an example of the content of our rides – with prices:

Relaxed Trek

You can enjoy a slow steady hack designed for beginners and the nervous rider. This takes things at a steady pace and is sure to give the most inexperienced rider enjoyment as well as gaining confidence.

Faster Fun Hack 

For more advanced riders try our faster hack which includes canters and gallops. Guaranteed fun and adventure!
