IT’S GALA DAY TIME AGAIN!
With Gala Day Season upon us ParkLife gives the low down on what we have in store for you at one of our favourite events of the year.
The biggest date in our summer calendar is Gala Day –held on our parks in July and August. Featuring a range of events from pie throwing to stalls, bouncy castles to dancing and the crowning of the Gala Prince and Princess, it is a great time to enjoy being part of the caravan community. The fun begins at lunchtime with plenty to do and see and continues into the night with fantastic evening entertainment rounding off a very special day.
Kicking off our Gala gaiety this year are Lagganhouse Country Park and WigBay Holiday Park who will hold their fun filled days on Saturday July 21st. Lagganhouse have chosen a fairytale Prince and Princess theme and plethora of treats and attractions are lined up including face painting and fancy dress. The highlight as always is the crowning of the Gala Prince and Princess – there won’t be a dry eye in the room while the judges make their decision. From 6.30pm it’s time for the tinies to get their groove on at the children’s disco and afterwards the grown ups will dance the night away with music from popular band, ‘Electric Velvet’ performing until late. On Sunday 22nd the fun continues with a car boot sale at noon and a car treasure hunt at 5pm with great prizes for first and second places.
All cash raised this year will be kept in a fund for future children’s events. Last year £100 was raised which went to help fund the Hogmanay party.
Over at WigBay on July 21st it’s La La La La La AMERICA! With a U.S. theme for the Gala. Two very special guest stars, Mickey and Minnie Mouse will attend so cameras at the ready! With an American theme comes American fancy dress, so dig out your star spangled banners and cowboy boots and get in touch with your inner yank! If you get peckish after browsing the stalls, throwing wet sponges at the staff, sliding on the slippy slide and bouncing on the inflatable castle, there’ll be plenty of American themed food to enjoy including snow cones, hot dogs, popcorn and burgers. And as day turns to night, everyone will reconvene to the club to enjoy music from a popular local band bringing a special day to a relaxing close.
Last, but certainly not least is Three Lochs Holiday Park with their Gala Day being held on Saturday August 4th. There’s so much planned you won’t know where to start including Archery, hook a duck, bouncy castle, outdoor bar for thirsty attendees, music from Kippy and and a big BBQ. Blood Bikes – a local charity who courier essential items within the community, will attend as will the mesmerising Owl Magic show. As usual there will be a range of food stalls, competitions and prizes aplenty and evening entertainment in the bar from 9pm.
Gala Day is great fun and a fantastic way to bring our wonderful caravan communities together for very special times. Come along and make memories with us. We look forward to seeing you all there.
